  6. Constituents’ Concerns

Continued concerns were raised regarding the proposed transfer of academic funds to support the athletic budget.  It was requested that all concerns be posted on the Faculty Senate website to ensure they would be forwarded onto Administration.  Faculty were reminded that they could also remit concerns directly to Chair D. Turnbull or the Faculty Senate office if they wished for anonymity. It was also suggested that perhaps Provost Chilton be invited to attend the December 10th meeting for her viewpoints.

Concerns were raised regarding the newly passed COVID 19 NRC grade ensuring students were aware of the process. It was noted that this information has been provided to the student advisors and they will ensure that students are aware of how to proceed accordingly. The Registrar’s Office will have a link for students who wish to apply and it will be live from December 23, 2020- January 6, 2021.

A concern was raised on how other campuses are being referred to by administration, such as “regional campuses” or referring to Pullman as the “flagship campus” and that those on other sites feel this implies a tiered status. It was noted this issue has been brought to the senate leadership’s attention earlier and this concern will be discussed with the November 23 meeting with Provost Chilton.

Concerns were noted about the cumbersome security login for Office 365 and the multi factor system.

A thank you to D. Turnbull for his ability to articulate faculty concerns at the Board of Regent’s meeting last week.
