About the Course Review Process
Senate review processes are guided by four principles:
- Trust in our faculty colleagues
- Transparency
- Adding value
- Facilitating innovation and nimbleness
In alignment with these principles, in fall 2023 Senate is piloting an adjusted course proposal review process (for new/restored courses and major course revisions). Under this process, faculty will continue to submit the appropriate course form as they have done in the past. The course will be placed onto a bulletin which will be added to the course review site. Members of the university community will have two weeks to submit feedback on a course.
If feedback is not provided on a specific course within the review timeline, it will be placed on a bulletin and go directly to the faculty senate for discussion and action.
If feedback is provided on a specific course(s), AAC, GSC, or PHSC as appropriate, will work with the proposer and reviewer to resolve concerns. Once the issue is resolved, the item will be placed on the next bulletin for discussion and action by Senate.
