In the wake of Chancellor Elizabeth Chilton’s departure, we should apply the same principle that we do to academic losses – that is, don’t fill her position but let it lapse. WSU functioned for years without a Pullman chancellor. In these days of stark financial exigency we should return to that model.

Thank you for posting this – you are right on the money! We do not need a Pullman Chancellor, we are already far too top heavy with “professional” administrators who do not contribute to the research and teaching missions of the university. Furthermore, we obviously cannot afford yet another highly paid administrator given our serious budget concerns.
