October 22, 2020
- Prior to the call to order, VP Christopher Keane offered remarks updating current initiatives from the Office of Research and AVP Olivia Yang offered remarks updating the capital budget priorities (PPT).
- The Faculty Senate was called to order by D. Turnbull, Chair on Thursday October 22, 2020, in Lighty 403 and via Zoom at 4:22 p.m. Fifty-nine (59) members were present with seventeen (17) absent and eighteen (18) nonvoting members present.

- Constituents’ Concerns
- A question arose regarding the pending COVID 19 grading amendment and if acceptations will be allowed if needed in some programs. It was suggested that those concerns be discussed with the chairs of AAC, GSC and PHSC committees.
- A question on the multi-factor authentication was raised and its roll out and if WSU could accommodate more email programs than just Outlook. The director of ITS is actively involved to ensure the best encryption email software to protect the university.
- The proposal by Jim Kruger on eliminating WSU Athletics has been submitted to Administration and this will be discussed when senate leadership meets with the president and provost on October 27th. A report on this will follow.
