A group of WSU faculty, staff, and students have created a petition we hope you will sign and distribute. We are not allowed to post a link to the petition in this forum, but it is available on a popular petition platform called change dot org; search for “Washington State University Call to Action: Upholding DEI Language.”
WSU academic and administrative units are being asked to remove the words diversity, equity, and inclusion from public-facing documents, and to replace them with references to “access and opportunity.” This self-censorship and compliance in advance of federal regulations is not only contrary to the values of WSU as a land-grant institution, but it is a weakening of our institutional values. Please sign and distribute the petition if you would also like to voice your concerns to WSU Administration.
