  • Ensure Senate oversight of curricular development, implementation, modification, and review
  • Include students and administration in shared decision-making regarding a safe and rigorous learning environment
  • Facilitate campus and system level processes which enable and recognize campus governance
  • Heighten the faculty voice in academic hiring, evaluation, and recruitment
  • Protect and support academic freedom and its expression
  • Preserve shared governance and its principles

Ensure ongoing Faculty Senate communication

  • Identify and implement effective mechanisms for campus and system level communication
  • Regularly review faculty senate committees for efficacy and membership balance
  • Assess Senate apportionment regarding inclusion of equitable representation
  • Assure regular and periodic orientation of new and continuing Senators regarding the Senate and policy process
  • Seek opportunities to engage faculty in university level legislation and policy initiatives
  • Enact regular website improvement which seeks to provide access, ease of use, and education regarding Senate activities and initiatives
