Composition
- Eight faculty, with representation from the various areas of the University in mind, including at least one non-administrative faculty member, with at least three geographical regions represented. (F)

Function
- Consults with the dean of libraries and makes recommendations regarding issues and solutions identified by the dean.
- Consults with the dean of libraries and makes recommendations regarding issues identified by the Senate or the University community.
- Reviews proposed degree programs for adequacy of library holdings and services.
Workload
- The Library Committee meets one hour each month
Workload Committee Chair
- Committee meeting: 1 hour/month
- Steering meeting: 3 hours/month
- Senate meeting: 3 hours/month
- The chair also keeps in close contact with the dean of the libraries, sets agenda for meeting: 1 hour/month
- Total: 8 hours/month = 2 hours/week
Workload Committee Member
- 2-3 hours/month. If there are multiple proposals to review, this may increase to 4 hours/month
- Total: 0.5 to 1 hour/week
