Faculty Senate Collaboration

An Invitation to Connect

Academia can be an isolating profession, probably even more so in our current hybrid/zoom world. Faculty Senate wants to support opportunities for you to connect with each other in low key, low expectation environments. Many of us are dealing with similar issues and learning from each other can be helpful. If connecting sounds appealing to you, please see the opportunities below. Provide us with your information and we will facilitate!

Communities of Practice

Communities of practice are groups of faculty with shared interests who come together regularly over the course of a semester (or year). These may include writing groups, discussions of how to support student well-being, and more! The topic and structure are determined by the members. If you would like to join a community of practice, please provide your information below. And if you have an idea for a community of practice you would like that you don’t see here, please let us know (*Click here to connect with Communities of Practice).

Triangles or Squares

Are you looking for something more short-term? How about participating in a Triangle or Square? This involves a group of three (triangle) or four (square) faculty who visit each others’ classes once during a two-week period and then chat together for an hour over coffee or lunch. The idea is not to evaluate, but rather to see what other folks are doing and to get ideas (*Click here to connect with Triangles or Squares).

Share a Comment or Post a Constituent Concern

Use the form linked HERE to submit a constituent concern or share a comment with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee and we will be sure to connect with you soon. Within the additional details section of the form linked above, you may note how we can best support should your submission not be something you want posted. Alternatively, you may always send an email directly to faculty.senate@wsu.edu and we will respond to you as soon as we are able.
