Faculty Representation on the Board of Regents
Purpose, Term, and Role of the Representative
Purpose of the Role: To serve as liaison between faculty governance and the Board of Regents that will lead to a greater exchange of ideas and perspectives, increased understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by the institution, and more informed decision making on behalf of both governing bodies.
Term: The term of the Faculty Representative to the Board of Regents runs concurrently with that of Immediate Past Chair of the Faculty Senate, beginning August 16, 2020, through August 15, 2021.
Role and Participation: The representative serves in a non-voting and advisory capacity. The representative is invited to attend all meetings of the Board and of its committees and to be seated at the meeting table with full participation in discussion and debate on matters under consideration by the Board during its meetings including the Board’s retreats.
