Teaching Assistant Training Program Subcommittee of GSC

Functions:

  1. Establishes policies and procedures relating to the administration of teaching assistant training activities, including UNIV 590 - Preparation for College Teaching.

  2. Reviews and recommends each year the course content and instructors for UNIV 590 for the following academic year.

  3. Develops supporting materials for use by individual departments/programs/colleges in conjunction with UNIV 590.

  4. Assesses and evaluates the training activities, including UNIV 590.

Composition and Tenure:

  1. One member of the Graduate Studies Committee to serve annually as chair. (A)

  2. One representative from the International Education Office. (A)

  3. Three members of the faculty. (F)

  4. Four senior graduate teaching assistants or graduate teaching associates. (G)
