Functions:

Makes recommendations concerning policies and procedures to be followed in undergraduate academic advising.

Makes policy recommendations concerning exceptions to be allowed in fulfillment of undergraduate academic requirements.

Makes recommendations concerning undergraduate reinstatement policies and procedures.

With the Director of the Student Advising and Learning Center, appoints members to the Reinstatement Council, who interview deficient students, recommend for or against reinstatement, serve on Appeal Boards in case of appeal, review and make recommendations concerning senior petitions.

Serve as advisory committee to the Director of the Student Advising and Learning Center.

Interprets academic standards and requirements established by the Senate or the Board of Regents for implementation by the Academic Advising Program.
Composition and Tenure:

Three faculty who are actively involved in teaching courses, with three-year terms. (F)

Three faculty or Administrative Professionals who are Student Advising and Learning Center advisors, with three-year terms. (F-A/P)

Two undergraduate students, with two-year terms. (U)

One student or faculty member of the Academic Affairs Committee chosen by that committee. (A)
